These are not lamps displayed as art. They are sculptures that happen to produce light. The medium is wood, fire, and time. The result is something that belongs in a gallery as much as it belongs in a home.

Romain Davidico approaches each creation as a sculptor first. The wood is selected for its character. The fire is applied as an artistic gesture -- Shou Sugi Ban, an ancient Japanese technique, reveals hidden topographies in the grain. Steam bending transforms rigid timber into flowing curves. Light is the final material, the soul that brings each piece to life.
